Surah Ibrahim

Meaning: Abraham (নবী ইবরাহীম)

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

14:1

الٓر ۚ كِتَـٰبٌ أَنزَلْنَـٰهُ إِلَيْكَ لِتُخْرِجَ ٱلنَّاسَ مِنَ ٱلظُّلُمَـٰتِ إِلَى ٱلنُّورِ بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِمْ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطِ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْحَمِيدِ

Bengali:আলিফ-লাম-র, একটা কিতাব যা তোমার প্রতি অবতীর্ণ করেছি যাতে তুমি মানুষকে তাদের প্রতিপালকের নির্দেশে অন্ধকার থেকে নিয়ে আসতে পার আলোর দিকে- মহাপরাক্রমশালী প্রশংসিতের পথে।
English (Saheeh International):Alif, Lām, Rā.1 [This is] a Book which We have revealed to you, [O Muḥammad], that you might bring mankind out of darknesses into the light by permission of their Lord - to the path of the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy -
14:2

ٱللَّهِ ٱلَّذِى لَهُۥ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ۗ وَوَيْلٌ لِّلْكَـٰفِرِينَ مِنْ عَذَابٍ شَدِيدٍ

Bengali:আল্লাহ- আসমানসমূহে যা কিছু আছে আর পৃথিবীতে যা কিছু আছে, সবই তাঁর মালিকানাধীন। কিন্তু কাফিরদের জন্য আছে কঠিন শাস্তির দুর্ভোগ।
English (Saheeh International):Allāh, to whom belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And woe [i.e., destruction] to the disbelievers from a severe punishment -
14:3

ٱلَّذِينَ يَسْتَحِبُّونَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا عَلَى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَيَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَيَبْغُونَهَا عِوَجًا ۚ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ فِى ضَلَـٰلٍۭ بَعِيدٍ

Bengali:যারা আখেরাতের তুলনায় দুনিয়ার জিন্দিগীকে শ্রেয় জ্ঞান করে, যারা আল্লাহর পথ থেকে (লোকদেরকে) বিরত রাখে আর তাতে বক্রতা আনার আকাঙ্ক্ষা পোষণ করে। এরা গোমরাহীতে বহু দূরে চলে গেছে।
English (Saheeh International):The ones who prefer the worldly life over the Hereafter and avert [people] from the way of Allāh, seeking to make it [seem] deviant. Those are in extreme error.
14:4

وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا بِلِسَانِ قَوْمِهِۦ لِيُبَيِّنَ لَهُمْ ۖ فَيُضِلُّ ٱللَّهُ مَن يَشَآءُ وَيَهْدِى مَن يَشَآءُ ۚ وَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ

Bengali:আমি কোন রসূলকেই তার জাতির ভাষা ছাড়া পাঠাইনি যাতে তাদের কাছে স্পষ্টভাবে (আমার নির্দেশগুলো) বর্ণনা করতে পারে। অতঃপর আল্লাহ যাকে ইচ্ছে পথহারা করেছেন, আর যাকে ইচ্ছে সঠিক পথ দেখিয়েছেন, তিনি বড়ই পরাক্রান্ত, বিজ্ঞানময়।
English (Saheeh International):And We did not send any messenger except [speaking] in the language of his people to state clearly for them, and Allāh sends astray [thereby] whom He wills1 and guides whom He wills. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
14:5

وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا مُوسَىٰ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَآ أَنْ أَخْرِجْ قَوْمَكَ مِنَ ٱلظُّلُمَـٰتِ إِلَى ٱلنُّورِ وَذَكِّرْهُم بِأَيَّىٰمِ ٱللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَـٰتٍ لِّكُلِّ صَبَّارٍ شَكُورٍ

Bengali:আর অবশ্যই আমি মূসাকে আমার নিদর্শনসমূহ দিয়ে পাঠিয়েছিলাম আর বলেছিলাম, তোমার জাতিকে অন্ধকার থেকে আলোতে বের করে আন, আর তাদেরকে আল্লাহর হুকুমে ঘটিত অতীতের ঘটনাবলী দিয়ে উপদেশ দাও। এতে প্রত্যেক পরম সহিষ্ণু ও পরম কৃতজ্ঞ ব্যক্তির জন্য অবশ্যই নিদর্শনসমূহ রয়েছে।
English (Saheeh International):And We certainly sent Moses with Our signs, [saying], "Bring out your people from darknesses into the light and remind them of the days1 of Allāh." Indeed in that are signs for everyone patient and grateful.
14:6

وَإِذْ قَالَ مُوسَىٰ لِقَوْمِهِ ٱذْكُرُوا۟ نِعْمَةَ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ إِذْ أَنجَىٰكُم مِّنْ ءَالِ فِرْعَوْنَ يَسُومُونَكُمْ سُوٓءَ ٱلْعَذَابِ وَيُذَبِّحُونَ أَبْنَآءَكُمْ وَيَسْتَحْيُونَ نِسَآءَكُمْ ۚ وَفِى ذَٰلِكُم بَلَآءٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ عَظِيمٌ

Bengali:স্মরণ কর, যখন মূসা তার সম্প্রদায়কে বলেছিল, ‘তোমরা তোমাদের প্রতি আল্লাহর নি‘মাতের কথা স্মরণ কর যখন তিনি তোমাদেরকে ফির‘আওনী গোষ্ঠী থেকে রক্ষা করেছিলেন যারা তোমাদেরকে জঘন্য রকমের শাস্তিতে পিষ্ট করছিল। তোমাদের পুত্রদেরকে তারা হত্যা করত আর তোমাদের নারীদেরকে জীবিত রাখত। এটা ছিল তোমাদের জন্য আল্লাহর পক্ষ হতে এক কঠিন পরীক্ষা।
English (Saheeh International):And [recall, O Children of Israel], when Moses said to his people, "Remember the favor of Allāh upon you when He saved you from the people of Pharaoh, who were afflicting you with the worst torment and were slaughtering your [newborn] sons and keeping your females alive. And in that was a great trial from your Lord.
14:7

وَإِذْ تَأَذَّنَ رَبُّكُمْ لَئِن شَكَرْتُمْ لَأَزِيدَنَّكُمْ ۖ وَلَئِن كَفَرْتُمْ إِنَّ عَذَابِى لَشَدِيدٌ

Bengali:স্মরণ কর, যখন তোমাদের প্রতিপালক ঘোষণা করেন, যদি তোমরা কৃতজ্ঞতা প্রকাশ কর তাহলে আমি অবশ্যই তোমাদের জন্য (আমার নি‘য়ামাত) বৃদ্ধি করে দেব, আর যদি তোমরা অকৃতজ্ঞ হও (তবে জেনে রেখ, অকৃতজ্ঞদের জন্য) আমার শাস্তি অবশ্যই কঠিন।
English (Saheeh International):And [remember] when your Lord proclaimed, 'If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favor]; but if you deny, indeed, My punishment is severe.'"
14:8

وَقَالَ مُوسَىٰٓ إِن تَكْفُرُوٓا۟ أَنتُمْ وَمَن فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ جَمِيعًا فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَغَنِىٌّ حَمِيدٌ

Bengali:মূসা বলেছিল, তোমরা আর দুনিয়ার সকল লোক যদি অকৃতজ্ঞ হও (তাতে কিছুই যায় আসে না) কারণ আল্লাহ অমুখাপেক্ষী, প্রশংসিত।
English (Saheeh International):And Moses said, "If you should disbelieve, you and whoever is on the earth entirely - indeed, Allāh is Free of need and Praiseworthy."
14:9

أَلَمْ يَأْتِكُمْ نَبَؤُا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ قَوْمِ نُوحٍ وَعَادٍ وَثَمُودَ ۛ وَٱلَّذِينَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ ۛ لَا يَعْلَمُهُمْ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ ۚ جَآءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُم بِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِ فَرَدُّوٓا۟ أَيْدِيَهُمْ فِىٓ أَفْوَٰهِهِمْ وَقَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا كَفَرْنَا بِمَآ أُرْسِلْتُم بِهِۦ وَإِنَّا لَفِى شَكٍّ مِّمَّا تَدْعُونَنَآ إِلَيْهِ مُرِيبٍ

Bengali:তোমাদের পূর্বেকার লোকেদের খবর কি তোমাদের কাছে পৌঁছেনি? নূহ, ‘আদ আর সামূদ সম্প্রদায়ের, আর তাদের পরবর্তীদের; তাদের সম্পর্কে আল্লাহ ছাড়া কেউ জানে না। রসূলগণ তাদের কাছে স্পষ্ট নিদর্শনাসমূহ নিয়ে এসেছিল, তখন তারা নিজেদের মুখে হাত চেপে ধরল আর বলল, ‘যে জিনিস দিয়ে তোমাদেরকে পাঠানো হয়েছে তা আমরা অস্বীকার করি আর যে বিষয়ের প্রতি তোমরা আমাদেরকে আহবান জানাচ্ছ সে সম্পর্কে আমরা বিভ্রান্তিকর সন্দেহের মধ্যে রয়েছি।’
English (Saheeh International):Has there not reached you the news of those before you - the people of Noah and ʿAad and Thamūd and those after them? No one knows them [i.e., their number] but Allāh. Their messengers brought them clear proofs, but they returned their hands to their mouths1 and said, "Indeed, we disbelieve in that with which you have been sent, and indeed we are, about that to which you invite us, in disquieting doubt."
14:10

۞ قَالَتْ رُسُلُهُمْ أَفِى ٱللَّهِ شَكٌّ فَاطِرِ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۖ يَدْعُوكُمْ لِيَغْفِرَ لَكُم مِّن ذُنُوبِكُمْ وَيُؤَخِّرَكُمْ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى ۚ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنْ أَنتُمْ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُنَا تُرِيدُونَ أَن تَصُدُّونَا عَمَّا كَانَ يَعْبُدُ ءَابَآؤُنَا فَأْتُونَا بِسُلْطَـٰنٍ مُّبِينٍ

Bengali:তাদের রসূলগণ বলেছিল, ‘আল্লাহ সম্পর্কে সন্দেহ? যিনি আসমানসমূহ ও যমীনের সৃষ্টিকর্তা, তিনি তোমাদেরকে ডাকছেন তোমাদের অপরাধ মার্জনা করার জন্য আর একটা নির্দিষ্ট সময় পর্যন্ত তোমাদেরকে অবকাশ দেয়ার জন্য।’ তারা বলল, ‘তুমি আমাদেরই মত মানুষ বৈ তো নও, আমাদের পূর্বপুরুষরা যার ‘ইবাদাত করত তাত্থেকে আমাদেরকে তুমি বাধা দিতে চাও, তাহলে তুমি (তোমার দাবীর স্বপক্ষে) আমাদের কাছে সুস্পষ্ট প্রমাণ উপস্থিত কর।
English (Saheeh International):Their messengers said, "Can there be doubt about Allāh, Creator of the heavens and earth? He invites you that He may forgive you of your sins, and He delays you [i.e., your death] for a specified term." They said, "You are not but men like us who wish to avert us from what our fathers were worshipping. So bring us a clear authority [i.e., evidence]."
14:11

قَالَتْ لَهُمْ رُسُلُهُمْ إِن نَّحْنُ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْ وَلَـٰكِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَمُنُّ عَلَىٰ مَن يَشَآءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِۦ ۖ وَمَا كَانَ لَنَآ أَن نَّأْتِيَكُم بِسُلْطَـٰنٍ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ ٱللَّهِ ۚ وَعَلَى ٱللَّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ

Bengali:তাদের রসূলগণ তাদেরকে বলেছিল, ‘যদিও আমরা তোমাদের মতই মানুষ ব্যতীত নই, কিন্তু আল্লাহ তাঁর বান্দাহদের মধ্যে যার উপর ইচ্ছে অনুগ্রহ করেন। আল্লাহর হুকুম ছাড়া তোমাদের কাছে কোন প্রমাণ উপস্থিত করা আমাদের কাজ নয়। মু’মিনদের উচিত আল্লাহরই উপর ভরসা করা।
English (Saheeh International):Their messengers said to them, "We are only men like you, but Allāh confers favor upon whom He wills of His servants. It has never been for us to bring you evidence except by permission of Allāh. And upon Allāh let the believers rely.
14:12

وَمَا لَنَآ أَلَّا نَتَوَكَّلَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ وَقَدْ هَدَىٰنَا سُبُلَنَا ۚ وَلَنَصْبِرَنَّ عَلَىٰ مَآ ءَاذَيْتُمُونَا ۚ وَعَلَى ٱللَّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ ٱلْمُتَوَكِّلُونَ

Bengali:আমরা আল্লাহর উপর ভরসা করব না কেন, তিনিই তো আমাদেরকে পথ দেখিয়েছেন, তোমরা আমাদেরকে যে ক্লেশই দাওনা কেন, আমরা তাতে অবশ্য অবশ্যই ধৈর্য ধারণ করব, আর ভরসাকারীদের আল্লাহরই উপর ভরসা করা উচিত।
English (Saheeh International):And why should we not rely upon Allāh while He has guided us to our [good] ways. And we will surely be patient against whatever harm you should cause us. And upon Allāh let those who would rely [indeed] rely."
14:13

وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لِرُسُلِهِمْ لَنُخْرِجَنَّكُم مِّنْ أَرْضِنَآ أَوْ لَتَعُودُنَّ فِى مِلَّتِنَا ۖ فَأَوْحَىٰٓ إِلَيْهِمْ رَبُّهُمْ لَنُهْلِكَنَّ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ

Bengali:কাফিরগণ তাদের রসূলদের বলেছিল, ‘আমরা তোমাদেরকে আমাদের দেশ থেকে অবশ্য অবশ্যই বের করে দেব, অন্যথায় তোমাদেরকে অবশ্য অবশ্যই আমাদের ধর্মমতে ফিরে আসতে হবে।’ এমতাবস্থায় রসূলদের প্রতি তাদের প্রতিপালক এ মর্মে ওয়াহী করলেন যে, ‘আমি যালিমদেরকে অবশ্য অবশ্যই ধ্বংস করব।
English (Saheeh International):And those who disbelieved said to their messengers, "We will surely drive you out of our land, or you must return to our religion." So their Lord inspired to them, "We will surely destroy the wrongdoers.
14:14

وَلَنُسْكِنَنَّكُمُ ٱلْأَرْضَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ لِمَنْ خَافَ مَقَامِى وَخَافَ وَعِيدِ

Bengali:আর তাদের পরে তোমাদেরকে অবশ্য অবশ্যই যমীনে পুনর্বাসিত করব। এ (শুভ) সংবাদ তাদের জন্য যারা আমার সামনে এসে দাঁড়ানোর ব্যাপারে ভয় রাখে আর আমার শাস্তির ভয় দেখানোতে শংকিত হয়।’
English (Saheeh International):And We will surely cause you to dwell in the land after them. That is for he who fears My position1 and fears My threat."
14:15

وَٱسْتَفْتَحُوا۟ وَخَابَ كُلُّ جَبَّارٍ عَنِيدٍ

Bengali:তারা (অর্থাৎ কাফিররা) চূড়ান্ত বিজয়ের ফায়সালা কামনা করেছিল, কিন্তু (আল্লাহ ও তাঁর রসূলদের বিরোধিতা করার কারণে) প্রত্যেক উদ্ধত সীমালঙ্ঘনকারী ব্যর্থ হয়ে গেল।
English (Saheeh International):And they requested decision [i.e., victory from Allāh], and disappointed, [therefore], was every obstinate tyrant.
14:16

مِّن وَرَآئِهِۦ جَهَنَّمُ وَيُسْقَىٰ مِن مَّآءٍ صَدِيدٍ

Bengali:এদের জন্য পরবর্তীতে আছে জাহান্নাম, আর এদেরকে পান করানো হবে গলিত পুঁজ।
English (Saheeh International):Before him1 is Hell, and he will be given a drink of purulent water.2
14:17

يَتَجَرَّعُهُۥ وَلَا يَكَادُ يُسِيغُهُۥ وَيَأْتِيهِ ٱلْمَوْتُ مِن كُلِّ مَكَانٍ وَمَا هُوَ بِمَيِّتٍ ۖ وَمِن وَرَآئِهِۦ عَذَابٌ غَلِيظٌ

Bengali:সে তা খুব কষ্ট করে গিলতে চেষ্টা করবে, আর খুব কমই গিলতে পারবে। মৃত্যু যন্ত্রণা তার কাছে চতুর্দিক থেকে আসবে কিন্তু সে মরবে না, এরপর তার জন্য থাকবে এক কঠিন ‘আযাব।
English (Saheeh International):He will gulp it but will hardly [be able to] swallow it. And death will come to him from everywhere, but he is not to die. And before him is a massive punishment.
14:18

مَّثَلُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ بِرَبِّهِمْ ۖ أَعْمَـٰلُهُمْ كَرَمَادٍ ٱشْتَدَّتْ بِهِ ٱلرِّيحُ فِى يَوْمٍ عَاصِفٍ ۖ لَّا يَقْدِرُونَ مِمَّا كَسَبُوا۟ عَلَىٰ شَىْءٍ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلضَّلَـٰلُ ٱلْبَعِيدُ

Bengali:যারা তাদের প্রতিপালককে অস্বীকার করে তাদের ‘আমালের দৃষ্টান্ত হল সেই ছাইয়ের মত যা ঝড়ের দিনে বাতাস প্রচন্ড বেগে উড়িয়ে নিয়ে যায়। নিজেদের উপার্জনের কিছুই তারা কাজে লাগাতে পারে না। এটাই ঘোর গুমরাহী।
English (Saheeh International):The example of those who disbelieve in their Lord is [that] their deeds are like ashes which the wind blows forcefully on a stormy day; they are unable [to keep] from what they earned a [single] thing. That is what is extreme error.
14:19

أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ بِٱلْحَقِّ ۚ إِن يَشَأْ يُذْهِبْكُمْ وَيَأْتِ بِخَلْقٍ جَدِيدٍ

Bengali:তুমি কি দেখ না যে, আল্লাহ যথাযথ নিয়ম বিধানসহ আসমানসমূহ ও যমীন সৃষ্টি করেছেন, তিনি চাইলে তোমাদেরকে সরিয়ে দিবেন আর এক নতুন সৃষ্টি নিয়ে আসবেন।
English (Saheeh International):Have you not seen [i.e., considered] that Allāh created the heavens and the earth in truth? If He wills, He can do away with you and produce a new creation.
14:20

وَمَا ذَٰلِكَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ بِعَزِيزٍ

Bengali:এটা আল্লাহর জন্য কঠিন কিছু নয়।
English (Saheeh International):And that is not difficult for Allāh.
14:21

وَبَرَزُوا۟ لِلَّهِ جَمِيعًا فَقَالَ ٱلضُّعَفَـٰٓؤُا۟ لِلَّذِينَ ٱسْتَكْبَرُوٓا۟ إِنَّا كُنَّا لَكُمْ تَبَعًا فَهَلْ أَنتُم مُّغْنُونَ عَنَّا مِنْ عَذَابِ ٱللَّهِ مِن شَىْءٍ ۚ قَالُوا۟ لَوْ هَدَىٰنَا ٱللَّهُ لَهَدَيْنَـٰكُمْ ۖ سَوَآءٌ عَلَيْنَآ أَجَزِعْنَآ أَمْ صَبَرْنَا مَا لَنَا مِن مَّحِيصٍ

Bengali:তারা সকলে আল্লাহর নিকট উপস্থিত হবে। তখন যারা অহঙ্কার করেছিল তাদেরকে দুর্বলরা বলবে, আমরা তো তোমাদেরই অনুসারী ছিলাম, কাজেই এখন আল্লাহর শাস্তির কোন কিছু আমাদের থেকে তোমরা দূর করতে পার কি?’ তারা বলবে, ‘আল্লাহ আমাদেরকে সত্যপথে পরিচালিত করলে আমরাও অবশ্যই তোমাদেরকে সত্য পথ দেখাতাম। এখন আমরা ধৈর্যহারা হই কিংবা ধৈর্যধারণ করি দু’টোই আমাদের জন্য সমান, আমাদের কোন নিষ্কৃতি নেই।’
English (Saheeh International):And they will come out [for judgement] before Allāh all together, and the weak will say to those who were arrogant, "Indeed, we were your followers, so can you avail us anything against the punishment of Allāh?" They will say, "If Allāh had guided us, we would have guided you. It is all the same for us whether we show intolerance or are patient: there is for us no place of escape."
14:22

وَقَالَ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُ لَمَّا قُضِىَ ٱلْأَمْرُ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ وَعَدَكُمْ وَعْدَ ٱلْحَقِّ وَوَعَدتُّكُمْ فَأَخْلَفْتُكُمْ ۖ وَمَا كَانَ لِىَ عَلَيْكُم مِّن سُلْطَـٰنٍ إِلَّآ أَن دَعَوْتُكُمْ فَٱسْتَجَبْتُمْ لِى ۖ فَلَا تَلُومُونِى وَلُومُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَكُم ۖ مَّآ أَنَا۠ بِمُصْرِخِكُمْ وَمَآ أَنتُم بِمُصْرِخِىَّ ۖ إِنِّى كَفَرْتُ بِمَآ أَشْرَكْتُمُونِ مِن قَبْلُ ۗ إِنَّ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ

Bengali:বিচার-ফায়সালা সম্পন্ন হলে শয়ত্বান বলবে, ‘আল্লাহ তোমাদের জন্য যে ওয়া‘দা করেছিলেন তা ছিল সত্য ওয়া‘দা। আর আমিও তোমাদেরকে ওয়া‘দা দিয়েছিলাম, কিন্তু আমি তার খেলাপ করেছি, তোমাদের উপর আমার কোনই প্রভাব ছিল না, আমি কেবল তোমাদেরকে আহবান জানিয়েছিলাম আর তোমরা আমার আহবানে সাড়া দিয়েছিলে। কাজেই তোমরা আমাকে তিরস্কার করো না, বরং নিজেদেরকেই তিরস্কার কর, এখানে না আমি তোমাদের ফরিয়াদ শুনতে পারি, না তোমরা আমার ফরিয়াদ শুনতে পার। ইতোপূর্বে তোমরা যে আমাকে (আল্লাহর) শরীক করেছিলে আমি তা অস্বীকার করছি। যালিমদের জন্য আছে ভয়াবহ শাস্তি।’
English (Saheeh International):And Satan will say when the matter has been concluded, "Indeed, Allāh had promised you the promise of truth. And I promised you, but I betrayed you. But I had no authority over you except that I invited you, and you responded to me. So do not blame me; but blame yourselves. I cannot be called to your aid, nor can you be called to my aid. Indeed, I deny your association of me [with Allāh] before.1 Indeed, for the wrongdoers is a painful punishment."
14:23

وَأُدْخِلَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ جَنَّـٰتٍ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ خَـٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِمْ ۖ تَحِيَّتُهُمْ فِيهَا سَلَـٰمٌ

Bengali:যারা ঈমান আনে আর সৎ কাজ করে তাদেরকে জান্নাতে দাখিল করা হবে যার তলদেশে ঝর্ণাধারা প্রবাহিত। সেখানে তারা তাদের প্রতিপালকের অনুমতিক্রমে চিরকাল থাকবে। সেখানে তাদেরকে শান্তির বার্তা দিয়ে সংবর্ধনা জ্ঞাপন করা হবে।
English (Saheeh International):And those who believed and did righteous deeds will be admitted to gardens beneath which rivers flow, abiding eternally therein by permission of their Lord; and their greeting therein will be, "Peace!"
14:24

أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ ضَرَبَ ٱللَّهُ مَثَلًا كَلِمَةً طَيِّبَةً كَشَجَرَةٍ طَيِّبَةٍ أَصْلُهَا ثَابِتٌ وَفَرْعُهَا فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ

Bengali:তুমি কি দেখ না কীভাবে আল্লাহ দৃষ্টান্ত উপস্থাপন করেন? উৎকৃষ্ট বাক্যের তুলনা উৎকৃষ্ট গাছের ন্যায় যার মূল সুদৃঢ়ভাবে স্থাপিত আর শাখা-প্রশাখা আকাশপানে বিস্তৃত।
English (Saheeh International):Have you not considered how Allāh presents an example, [making] a good word like a good tree, whose root is firmly fixed and its branches [high] in the sky?
14:25

تُؤْتِىٓ أُكُلَهَا كُلَّ حِينٍۭ بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهَا ۗ وَيَضْرِبُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْأَمْثَالَ لِلنَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ

Bengali:তার প্রতিপালকের হুকুমে তা সব সময় ফল দান করে। মানুষদের জন্য আল্লাহ দৃষ্টান্ত বর্ণনা করেন যাতে তারা শিক্ষা গ্রহণ করে।
English (Saheeh International):It produces its fruit all the time, by permission of its Lord. And Allāh presents examples for the people that perhaps they will be reminded.
14:26

وَمَثَلُ كَلِمَةٍ خَبِيثَةٍ كَشَجَرَةٍ خَبِيثَةٍ ٱجْتُثَّتْ مِن فَوْقِ ٱلْأَرْضِ مَا لَهَا مِن قَرَارٍ

Bengali:মন্দ বাক্য মন্দ বৃক্ষের সঙ্গে তুলনীয়, ভূপৃষ্ঠের উপরিভাগেই যাকে মূল থেকে উপড়ে ফেলা হয়েছে, যার কোন স্থায়িত্ব নেই।
English (Saheeh International):And the example of a bad word is like a bad tree, uprooted from the surface of the earth, not having any stability.
14:27

يُثَبِّتُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ بِٱلْقَوْلِ ٱلثَّابِتِ فِى ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَفِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ ۖ وَيُضِلُّ ٱللَّهُ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ ۚ وَيَفْعَلُ ٱللَّهُ مَا يَشَآءُ

Bengali:যারা ঈমান এনেছে তাদেরকে আল্লাহ সুপ্রতিষ্ঠিত বাণীর অবলম্বনে দুনিয়ার জীবনে ও আখেরাতে প্রতিষ্ঠিত রাখবেন আর যালিমদেরকে আল্লাহ ধ্বংস করে দেবেন। তিনি যা ইচ্ছে করেন তাই করেন।
English (Saheeh International):Allāh keeps firm those who believe, with the firm word,1 in worldly life and in the Hereafter.2 And Allāh sends astray the wrongdoers. And Allāh does what He wills.
14:28

۞ أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ بَدَّلُوا۟ نِعْمَتَ ٱللَّهِ كُفْرًا وَأَحَلُّوا۟ قَوْمَهُمْ دَارَ ٱلْبَوَارِ

Bengali:তুমি কি তাদের ব্যাপারে চিন্তা কর না যারা আল্লাহর অনুগ্রহের বিনিময়ে অকৃতজ্ঞতার নীতি অবলম্বন করে আর তাদের জাতিকে ধ্বংসের ঘরে নামিয়ে আনে।
English (Saheeh International):Have you not considered those who exchanged the favor of Allāh for disbelief1 and settled their people [in] the home of ruin?
14:29

جَهَنَّمَ يَصْلَوْنَهَا ۖ وَبِئْسَ ٱلْقَرَارُ

Bengali:(তা হল) জাহান্নাম, তাতে তারা প্রবেশ করবে, বসবাসের এ জায়গা কতই না নিকৃষ্ট!
English (Saheeh International):[It is] Hell, which they will [enter to] burn, and wretched is the settlement.
14:30

وَجَعَلُوا۟ لِلَّهِ أَندَادًا لِّيُضِلُّوا۟ عَن سَبِيلِهِۦ ۗ قُلْ تَمَتَّعُوا۟ فَإِنَّ مَصِيرَكُمْ إِلَى ٱلنَّارِ

Bengali:আর তারা (অন্যকে) আল্লাহর সমকক্ষ স্থির করে তাঁর পথ থেকে বিপথগামী করার উদ্দেশ্যে। বল, ‘ভোগ করে নাও, শেষ পর্যন্ত জাহান্নামেই তোমাদেরকে ফিরে যেতে হবে।
English (Saheeh International):And they have attributed to Allāh equals to mislead [people] from His way. Say, "Enjoy yourselves, for indeed, your destination is the Fire."
14:31

قُل لِّعِبَادِىَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ يُقِيمُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَيُنفِقُوا۟ مِمَّا رَزَقْنَـٰهُمْ سِرًّا وَعَلَانِيَةً مِّن قَبْلِ أَن يَأْتِىَ يَوْمٌ لَّا بَيْعٌ فِيهِ وَلَا خِلَـٰلٌ

Bengali:আমার বান্দাদের মধ্যে যারা ঈমান এনেছে তাদেরকে বল নামায প্রতিষ্ঠা করতে আর যে জীবিকা আমি তাদেরকে দিয়েছি তাত্থেকে গোপনে ও প্রকাশ্যে ব্যয় করতে- সেদিন আসার পূর্বে যেদিন না চলবে কোন কেনা-বেচা আর না কোন বন্ধুত্ব।
English (Saheeh International):[O Muḥammad], tell My servants who have believed to establish prayer and spend from what We have provided them, secretly and publicly, before a Day comes in which there will be no exchange [i.e., ransom], nor any friendships.
14:32

ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَأَنزَلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءً فَأَخْرَجَ بِهِۦ مِنَ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ رِزْقًا لَّكُمْ ۖ وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمُ ٱلْفُلْكَ لِتَجْرِىَ فِى ٱلْبَحْرِ بِأَمْرِهِۦ ۖ وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمُ ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرَ

Bengali:তিনিই আল্লাহ যিনি আসমানসমূহ ও যমীন সৃষ্টি করেছেন, তিনি আকাশ হতে পানি বর্ষণ করেন যা দিয়ে নানা প্রকার ফলফলাদি জন্মে তোমাদের জীবিকার জন্য। তিনি নৌযানগুলোকে তোমাদের নিয়ন্ত্রণাধীন করে দিয়েছেন, যাতে সেগুলো তাঁর নির্দেশে সমুদ্রে চলাচল করে আর তিনি নদীগুলোকে তোমাদের অধীন করে দিয়েছেন।
English (Saheeh International):It is Allāh who created the heavens and the earth and sent down rain from the sky and produced thereby some fruits as provision for you and subjected for you1 the ships to sail through the sea by His command and subjected for you the rivers.
14:33

وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمُ ٱلشَّمْسَ وَٱلْقَمَرَ دَآئِبَيْنِ ۖ وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمُ ٱلَّيْلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ

Bengali:তিনি সূর্য ও চন্দ্রকে তোমাদের কাজে লাগিয়ে রেখেছেন, তারা অনুগত হয়ে নিজ পথে চলছে। আর তিনি রাত ও দিনকে তোমাদের কাজে লাগিয়ে রেখেছেন।
English (Saheeh International):And He subjected for you the sun and the moon, continuous [in orbit], and subjected for you the night and the day.
14:34

وَءَاتَىٰكُم مِّن كُلِّ مَا سَأَلْتُمُوهُ ۚ وَإِن تَعُدُّوا۟ نِعْمَتَ ٱللَّهِ لَا تُحْصُوهَآ ۗ إِنَّ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ لَظَلُومٌ كَفَّارٌ

Bengali:তিনি তোমাদেরকে সে সব কিছুই দিয়েছেন যা তোমরা চেয়েছ (তোমরা তোমাদের প্রয়োজনীয় সব কিছুই পেয়েছ) আর তোমরা আল্লাহর অনুগ্রহ গণনা করতে চাইলে কক্ষনো তার সংখ্যা নির্ধারণ করতে পারবে না। মানুষ অবশ্যই বড়ই যালিম, বড়ই অকৃতজ্ঞ।
English (Saheeh International):And He gave you from all you asked of Him.1 And if you should count the favor [i.e., blessings] of Allāh, you could not enumerate them. Indeed, mankind is [generally] most unjust and ungrateful.2
14:35

وَإِذْ قَالَ إِبْرَٰهِيمُ رَبِّ ٱجْعَلْ هَـٰذَا ٱلْبَلَدَ ءَامِنًا وَٱجْنُبْنِى وَبَنِىَّ أَن نَّعْبُدَ ٱلْأَصْنَامَ

Bengali:স্মরণ কর, ইবরাহীম যখন বলেছিল, ‘হে আমার রব্ব! তুমি এ নগরীকে নিরাপদ কর আর আমাকে আর আমার সন্তানদেরকে প্রতিমা পূজা থেকে রক্ষা কর।
English (Saheeh International):And [mention, O Muḥammad], when Abraham said, "My Lord, make this city [i.e., Makkah] secure and keep me and my sons away from worshipping idols.
14:36

رَبِّ إِنَّهُنَّ أَضْلَلْنَ كَثِيرًا مِّنَ ٱلنَّاسِ ۖ فَمَن تَبِعَنِى فَإِنَّهُۥ مِنِّى ۖ وَمَنْ عَصَانِى فَإِنَّكَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ

Bengali:হে আমার প্রতিপালক! এ (প্রতিমা)-গুলো বহু সংখ্যক মানুষকে পথভ্রষ্ট করেছে। কাজেই (প্রতিমাগুলোকে বাদ দিয়ে) যারা আমাকে অনুসরণ করবে তারা আমার দলভুক্ত। আর যে আমার অবাধ্য হবে সেক্ষেত্রে তুমি তো বড়ই ক্ষমাশীল, বড়ই দয়ালু।
English (Saheeh International):My Lord, indeed they have led astray many among the people. So whoever follows me - then he is of me;1 and whoever disobeys me - indeed, You are [yet] Forgiving and Merciful.
14:37

رَّبَّنَآ إِنِّىٓ أَسْكَنتُ مِن ذُرِّيَّتِى بِوَادٍ غَيْرِ ذِى زَرْعٍ عِندَ بَيْتِكَ ٱلْمُحَرَّمِ رَبَّنَا لِيُقِيمُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ فَٱجْعَلْ أَفْـِٔدَةً مِّنَ ٱلنَّاسِ تَهْوِىٓ إِلَيْهِمْ وَٱرْزُقْهُم مِّنَ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَشْكُرُونَ

Bengali:হে আমাদের প্রতিপালক! আমি আমার সন্তানদের একাংশকে শস্যক্ষেতহীন উপত্যকায় তোমার সম্মানিত ঘরের নিকট পুনর্বাসিত করলাম। হে আমার প্রতিপালক! তারা যাতে নামায কায়িম করে। কাজেই তুমি মানুষের অন্তরকে তাদের প্রতি অনুরাগী করে দাও আর ফল-ফলাদি দিয়ে তাদের জীবিকার ব্যবস্থা কর যাতে তারা শুকরিয়া আদায় করে।
English (Saheeh International):Our Lord, I have settled some of my descendants in an uncultivated valley near Your sacred House, our Lord, that they may establish prayer. So make hearts among the people incline toward them and provide for them from the fruits that they might be grateful.
14:38

رَبَّنَآ إِنَّكَ تَعْلَمُ مَا نُخْفِى وَمَا نُعْلِنُ ۗ وَمَا يَخْفَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ مِن شَىْءٍ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ

Bengali:হে আমাদের প্রতিপালক! তুমি তো জান যা আমরা গোপন করি আর যা প্রকাশ করি, আসমান ও যমীনের কোন বস্তুই আল্লাহ হতে গোপন নেই।
English (Saheeh International):Our Lord, indeed You know what we conceal and what we declare, and nothing is hidden from Allāh on the earth or in the heaven.
14:39

ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِى وَهَبَ لِى عَلَى ٱلْكِبَرِ إِسْمَـٰعِيلَ وَإِسْحَـٰقَ ۚ إِنَّ رَبِّى لَسَمِيعُ ٱلدُّعَآءِ

Bengali:যাবতীয় প্রশংসা আল্লাহর যিনি আমার বার্ধক্য অবস্থায় আমাকে ইসমাঈল ও ইসহাককে দান করেছেন, আমার প্রতিপালক অবশ্যই আহবান শ্রবণকারী।
English (Saheeh International):Praise to Allāh, who has granted to me in old age Ishmael and Isaac. Indeed, my Lord is the Hearer of supplication.
14:40

رَبِّ ٱجْعَلْنِى مُقِيمَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِى ۚ رَبَّنَا وَتَقَبَّلْ دُعَآءِ

Bengali:হে আমার প্রতিপালক! আমাকে নামায প্রতিষ্ঠাকারী বানাও আর আমার সন্তানদেরকেও, হে আমাদের প্রতিপালক! তুমি আমার প্রার্থনা কবূল কর।
English (Saheeh International):My Lord, make me an establisher of prayer, and [many] from my descendants. Our Lord, and accept my supplication.
14:41

رَبَّنَا ٱغْفِرْ لِى وَلِوَٰلِدَىَّ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَوْمَ يَقُومُ ٱلْحِسَابُ

Bengali:হে আমাদের প্রতিপালক! হিসাব গ্রহণের দিন আমাকে, আমার পিতা-মাতাকে আর মু’মিনদেরকে ক্ষমা করে দিও,
English (Saheeh International):Our Lord, forgive me and my parents and the believers the Day the account is established."
14:42

وَلَا تَحْسَبَنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَـٰفِلًا عَمَّا يَعْمَلُ ٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ ۚ إِنَّمَا يُؤَخِّرُهُمْ لِيَوْمٍ تَشْخَصُ فِيهِ ٱلْأَبْصَـٰرُ

Bengali:যালিমরা যা করছে সে ব্যাপারে তোমরা আল্লাহকে কক্ষনো উদাসীন মনে কর না। তিনি তাদেরকে সেদিন পর্যন্ত ঢিল দিচ্ছেন যেদিন ভয়ে আতঙ্কে চক্ষু স্থির হয়ে যাবে।
English (Saheeh International):And never think that Allāh is unaware of what the wrongdoers do. He only delays them [i.e., their account] for a Day when eyes will stare [in horror].
14:43

مُهْطِعِينَ مُقْنِعِى رُءُوسِهِمْ لَا يَرْتَدُّ إِلَيْهِمْ طَرْفُهُمْ ۖ وَأَفْـِٔدَتُهُمْ هَوَآءٌ

Bengali:আতঙ্কিত হয়ে মাথা তুলে পালাতে থাকবে, দৃষ্টি তাদের নিজেদের পানে ফিরে আসবে না, আর তাদের দিল উড়ে যাবে।
English (Saheeh International):Racing ahead, their heads raised up, their glance does not come back to them,1 and their hearts are void.
14:44

وَأَنذِرِ ٱلنَّاسَ يَوْمَ يَأْتِيهِمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ فَيَقُولُ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ رَبَّنَآ أَخِّرْنَآ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍ قَرِيبٍ نُّجِبْ دَعْوَتَكَ وَنَتَّبِعِ ٱلرُّسُلَ ۗ أَوَلَمْ تَكُونُوٓا۟ أَقْسَمْتُم مِّن قَبْلُ مَا لَكُم مِّن زَوَالٍ

Bengali:কাজেই মানুষকে সতর্ক কর সেদিনের ব্যাপারে যেদিন তাদের উপর ‘আযাব আসবে। যারা যুলম করেছিল তারা তখন বলবে, ‘হে আমাদের প্রতিপালক! আমাদেরকে অল্পদিনের জন্য সময় দাও, আমরা তোমার আহবানে সাড়া দিব আর রসূলদের কথা মেনে চলব।’ (তখন তাদেরকে বলা হবে) তোমরা কি পূর্বে শপথ করে বলনি যে, তোমাদের কক্ষনো পতন ঘটবে না?
English (Saheeh International):And, [O Muḥammad], warn the people of a Day when the punishment will come to them and those who did wrong will say, "Our Lord, delay us for a short term; we will answer Your call and follow the messengers." [But it will be said], "Had you not sworn, before, that for you there would be no cessation?1
14:45

وَسَكَنتُمْ فِى مَسَـٰكِنِ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَتَبَيَّنَ لَكُمْ كَيْفَ فَعَلْنَا بِهِمْ وَضَرَبْنَا لَكُمُ ٱلْأَمْثَالَ

Bengali:অথচ তোমরা সেই লোকগুলোর বাসভূমিতে বসবাস করছিলে যারা নিজেদের প্রতি যুলম করেছিল আর তোমাদেরকে স্পষ্ট করে দেখিয়ে দেয়া হয়েছিল আমি তাদের সঙ্গে কেমন ব্যবহার করেছিলাম। আর আমি বহু উদাহরণ টেনে তোমাদেরকে বুঝিয়েও দিয়েছিলাম।
English (Saheeh International):And you lived among the dwellings of those who wronged themselves, and it had become clear to you how We dealt with them. And We presented for you [many] examples."
14:46

وَقَدْ مَكَرُوا۟ مَكْرَهُمْ وَعِندَ ٱللَّهِ مَكْرُهُمْ وَإِن كَانَ مَكْرُهُمْ لِتَزُولَ مِنْهُ ٱلْجِبَالُ

Bengali:তারা যে চক্রান্ত করেছিল তা ছিল সত্যিই ভয়ানক, কিন্তু তাদের চক্রান্ত আল্লাহর দৃষ্টির ভিতরেই ছিল, যদিও তাদের চক্রান্তগুলো এমন ছিল না যে, তাতে পর্বতও টলে যেত।
English (Saheeh International):And they had planned their plan, but with Allāh is [recorded] their plan, even if their plan had been [sufficient] to do away with the mountains.1
14:47

فَلَا تَحْسَبَنَّ ٱللَّهَ مُخْلِفَ وَعْدِهِۦ رُسُلَهُۥٓ ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَزِيزٌ ذُو ٱنتِقَامٍ

Bengali:(অবস্থা যতই প্রতিকূল হোক না কেন) তুমি কক্ষনো মনে কর না যে, আল্লাহ তাঁর রসূলগণকে দেয়া ওয়া‘দা খেলাপ করবেন, আল্লাহ মহা প্রতাপশালী, প্রবল প্রতিশোধ গ্রহণকারী।
English (Saheeh International):So never think that Allāh will fail in His promise to His messengers. Indeed, Allāh is Exalted in Might and Owner of Retribution.1
14:48

يَوْمَ تُبَدَّلُ ٱلْأَرْضُ غَيْرَ ٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتُ ۖ وَبَرَزُوا۟ لِلَّهِ ٱلْوَٰحِدِ ٱلْقَهَّارِ

Bengali:যেদিন এ পৃথিবী বদলে গিয়ে অন্য এক পৃথিবীতে রূপান্তরিত হবে আর আসমানসমূহও (বদলে যাবে), আর মানুষ সমুস্থাপিত হবে এক ও অপ্রতিরোধ্য আল্লাহর সম্মুখে।
English (Saheeh International):[It will be] on the Day the earth will be replaced by another earth, and the heavens [as well], and they [i.e., all creatures] will come out before Allāh, the One, the Prevailing,
14:49

وَتَرَى ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ يَوْمَئِذٍ مُّقَرَّنِينَ فِى ٱلْأَصْفَادِ

Bengali:সেদিন তুমি অপরাধীদেরকে দেখবে শৃঙ্খলে তাদের হাত পা শক্ত করে বাঁধা।
English (Saheeh International):And you will see the criminals that Day bound together in irons,
14:50

سَرَابِيلُهُم مِّن قَطِرَانٍ وَتَغْشَىٰ وُجُوهَهُمُ ٱلنَّارُ

Bengali:তাদের পোশাক হবে আলকাতরার আর আগুন তাদের মুখমন্ডল আচ্ছন্ন করবে।
English (Saheeh International):Their garments of liquid pitch and their faces covered by the Fire
14:51

لِيَجْزِىَ ٱللَّهُ كُلَّ نَفْسٍ مَّا كَسَبَتْ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَرِيعُ ٱلْحِسَابِ

Bengali:(এটা করা হবে এজন্য) যাতে আল্লাহ প্রত্যেক ব্যক্তিকে তার কৃতকর্মের প্রতিফল দিতে পারেন। আল্লাহ তো হিসাব গ্রহণে খুবই দ্রুতগতি।
English (Saheeh International):So that Allāh will recompense every soul for what it earned. Indeed, Allāh is swift in account.
14:52

هَـٰذَا بَلَـٰغٌ لِّلنَّاسِ وَلِيُنذَرُوا۟ بِهِۦ وَلِيَعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنَّمَا هُوَ إِلَـٰهٌ وَٰحِدٌ وَلِيَذَّكَّرَ أُو۟لُوا۟ ٱلْأَلْبَـٰبِ

Bengali:এটা মানুষদের জন্য একটা বার্তা যার দ্বারা তাদেরকে সতর্ক করা হচ্ছে আর যাতে তারা জানতে পারে যে, তিনি এক ইলাহ আর যাতে বুদ্ধিমান মানুষেরা উপদেশ লাভ করে।
English (Saheeh International):This [Qur’ān] is notification for the people that they may be warned thereby and that they may know that He is but one God and that those of understanding will be reminded.
