الشمس
Surah Ash-Shams
Meaning: The Sun (সূর্য)
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
91:1
وَٱلشَّمْسِ وَضُحَىٰهَا
Bengali:শপথ সূর্যের ও তার (উজ্জ্বল) কিরণের,
English (Saheeh International):By the sun and its brightness
91:2
وَٱلْقَمَرِ إِذَا تَلَىٰهَا
Bengali:শপথ চাঁদের যখন তা সূর্যের পিছনে আসে,
English (Saheeh International):And [by] the moon when it follows it
91:3
وَٱلنَّهَارِ إِذَا جَلَّىٰهَا
Bengali:শপথ দিনের যখন তা সূর্যকে উদ্ভাসিত করে,
English (Saheeh International):And [by] the day when it displays it1
91:4
وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَىٰهَا
Bengali:শপথ রাতের যখন তা সূর্যকে ঢেকে নেয়,
English (Saheeh International):And [by] the night when it covers [i.e., conceals] it
91:5
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَمَا بَنَىٰهَا
Bengali:শপথ আসমানের আর সেটা যিনি বানিয়েছেন তাঁর,
English (Saheeh International):And [by] the sky and He who constructed it
91:6
وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا طَحَىٰهَا
Bengali:শপথ যমীনের আর সেটা যিনি বিছিয়েছেন তাঁর,
English (Saheeh International):And [by] the earth and He who spread it
91:7
وَنَفْسٍ وَمَا سَوَّىٰهَا
Bengali:শপথ প্রাণের আর তাঁর যিনি তা সামঞ্জস্যপূর্ণ করেছেন,
English (Saheeh International):And [by] the soul and He who proportioned it1
91:8
فَأَلْهَمَهَا فُجُورَهَا وَتَقْوَىٰهَا
Bengali:অতঃপর তাকে তার অসৎকর্ম ও সৎকর্মের জ্ঞান দান করেছেন।
English (Saheeh International):And inspired it [with discernment of] its wickedness and its righteousness,
91:9
قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن زَكَّىٰهَا
Bengali:সেই সফলকাম হয়েছে যে নিজ আত্মাকে পবিত্র করেছে।
English (Saheeh International):He has succeeded who purifies it,
91:10
وَقَدْ خَابَ مَن دَسَّىٰهَا
Bengali:সেই ব্যর্থ হয়েছে যে নিজ আত্মাকে কলূষিত করেছে।
English (Saheeh International):And he has failed who instills it [with corruption].
91:11
كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ بِطَغْوَىٰهَآ
Bengali:সামূদ জাতি সীমালঙ্ঘন ক’রে (তাদের নবীকে মেনে নিতে) অস্বীকার করেছিল।
English (Saheeh International):Thamūd denied [their prophet] by reason of their transgression,
91:12
إِذِ ٱنۢبَعَثَ أَشْقَىٰهَا
Bengali:যখন তাদের সবচেয়ে হতভাগা লোকটি মাথা চাড়া দিয়ে উঠল।
English (Saheeh International):When the most wretched of them was sent forth.1
91:13
فَقَالَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ نَاقَةَ ٱللَّهِ وَسُقْيَـٰهَا
Bengali:তখন আল্লাহর রাসূল (সালিহ) তাদেরকে বলল, ‘এটা আল্লাহর উটনি, একে পানি পান করতে বাধা দিও না।
English (Saheeh International):And the messenger of Allāh [i.e., Ṣāliḥ] said to them, "[Do not harm] the she-camel of Allāh or [prevent her from] her drink."
91:14
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَعَقَرُوهَا فَدَمْدَمَ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّهُم بِذَنۢبِهِمْ فَسَوَّىٰهَا
Bengali:কিন্তু তারা রসূলের কথা অগ্রাহ্য করল এবং উটনির পায়ের রগ কেটে দিল। শেষ পর্যন্ত তাদের পাপের কারণে তাদের প্রতিপালক তাদেরকে ধ্বংস করে মাটিতে মিশিয়ে দিলেন।
English (Saheeh International):But they denied him and hamstrung1 her. So their Lord brought down upon them destruction for their sin and made it equal [upon all of them].
91:15
وَلَا يَخَافُ عُقْبَـٰهَا
Bengali:আর তিনি (তাঁর এ কাজের) কোন খারাপ পরিণতির ভয় মোটেই পোষণ করেন না।
English (Saheeh International):And He does not fear the consequence thereof.1
