Surah An-Najm

Meaning: The Star (তারা)

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

53:1

وَٱلنَّجْمِ إِذَا هَوَىٰ

Bengali:শপথ তারকার যখন তা অস্ত যায়,
English (Saheeh International):By the star when it descends,
53:2

مَا ضَلَّ صَاحِبُكُمْ وَمَا غَوَىٰ

Bengali:তোমাদের (মাঝে ছোট থেকে বড় হয়েছে সেই) সঙ্গী গুমরাহও নয় আর ভুলপথে পরিচালিতও নয়,
English (Saheeh International):Your companion [i.e., Muḥammad] has not strayed, nor has he erred,
53:3

وَمَا يَنطِقُ عَنِ ٱلْهَوَىٰٓ

Bengali:আর সে মনগড়া কথাও বলে না।
English (Saheeh International):Nor does he speak from [his own] inclination.
53:4

إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا وَحْىٌ يُوحَىٰ

Bengali:তাতো ওয়াহী যা তার প্রতি প্রত্যাদেশ করা হয়,
English (Saheeh International):It is not but a revelation revealed,
53:5

عَلَّمَهُۥ شَدِيدُ ٱلْقُوَىٰ

Bengali:তাকে শিক্ষা দেয় শক্তিশালী,
English (Saheeh International):Taught to him by one intense in strength [i.e., Gabriel] -
53:6

ذُو مِرَّةٍ فَٱسْتَوَىٰ

Bengali:প্রজ্ঞার অধিকারী (জিবরাঈল) সে নিজ আকৃতিতে স্থির হয়ে ছিল,
English (Saheeh International):One of soundness.1 And he rose to [his] true form2
53:7

وَهُوَ بِٱلْأُفُقِ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ

Bengali:আর সে ছিল ঊর্ধ্ব দিগন্তে,
English (Saheeh International):While he was in the higher [part of the] horizon.1
53:8

ثُمَّ دَنَا فَتَدَلَّىٰ

Bengali:অতঃপর সে (নবীর) নিকটবর্তী হল, অতঃপর আসলো আরো নিকটে,
English (Saheeh International):Then he approached and descended
53:9

فَكَانَ قَابَ قَوْسَيْنِ أَوْ أَدْنَىٰ

Bengali:ফলে [নবী (সাঃ) ও জিবরাঈলের মাঝে] দুই ধনুকের ব্যবধান রইল অথবা আরো কম।
English (Saheeh International):And was at a distance of two bow lengths or nearer.
53:10

فَأَوْحَىٰٓ إِلَىٰ عَبْدِهِۦ مَآ أَوْحَىٰ

Bengali:তখন (আল্লাহ) তাঁর বান্দাহর প্রতি ওয়াহী করলেন যা ওয়াহী করার ছিল।
English (Saheeh International):And he revealed to His Servant1 what he revealed [i.e., conveyed].
53:11

مَا كَذَبَ ٱلْفُؤَادُ مَا رَأَىٰٓ

Bengali:(নবীর) অন্তঃকরণ মিথ্যে মনে করেনি যা সে দেখে ছিল।
English (Saheeh International):The heart1 did not lie [about] what it saw.
53:12

أَفَتُمَـٰرُونَهُۥ عَلَىٰ مَا يَرَىٰ

Bengali:সে যা দেখেছে সে বিষয়ে তোমরা কি তার সঙ্গে বিতর্ক করবে?
English (Saheeh International):So will you dispute with him over what he saw?
53:13

وَلَقَدْ رَءَاهُ نَزْلَةً أُخْرَىٰ

Bengali:অবশ্যই সে [অর্থাৎ নবী (সা.)] তাকে [অর্থাৎ জিবরাঈল (আঃ)-কে] আরেকবার দেখেছিল
English (Saheeh International):And he certainly saw him in another descent1
53:14

عِندَ سِدْرَةِ ٱلْمُنتَهَىٰ

Bengali:শেষসীমার বরই গাছের কাছে,
English (Saheeh International):At the Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary -
53:15

عِندَهَا جَنَّةُ ٱلْمَأْوَىٰٓ

Bengali:যার কাছে অবস্থিত বসবাসের জান্নাত।
English (Saheeh International):Near it is the Garden of Refuge [i.e., Paradise] -
53:16

إِذْ يَغْشَى ٱلسِّدْرَةَ مَا يَغْشَىٰ

Bengali:যখন গাছটি যা দিয়ে ঢেকে থাকার তা দিয়ে ঢাকা ছিল, (যার বর্ণনা মানুষের বোধগম্য নয়)
English (Saheeh International):When there covered the Lote Tree that which covered [it].1
53:17

مَا زَاغَ ٱلْبَصَرُ وَمَا طَغَىٰ

Bengali:(নবীর) দৃষ্টি ভ্রমও ঘটেনি, সীমা ছাড়িয়েও যায়নি।
English (Saheeh International):The sight [of the Prophet (ﷺ)] did not swerve, nor did it transgress [its limit].
53:18

لَقَدْ رَأَىٰ مِنْ ءَايَـٰتِ رَبِّهِ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰٓ

Bengali:সে তার প্রতিপালকের বড় বড় নিদর্শন দেখেছিল।
English (Saheeh International):He certainly saw of the greatest signs of his Lord.
53:19

أَفَرَءَيْتُمُ ٱللَّـٰتَ وَٱلْعُزَّىٰ

Bengali:তোমরা কি লাত ও উযযা সম্পর্কে ভেবে দেখেছ?
English (Saheeh International):So have you considered al-Lāt and al-ʿUzzā?
53:20

وَمَنَوٰةَ ٱلثَّالِثَةَ ٱلْأُخْرَىٰٓ

Bengali:আর তৃতীয় আরেকটি মানাৎ সম্পর্কে? (এ সব অক্ষম, বাকশক্তিহীন, নড়া-চড়ার শক্তিহীন মূর্তিগুলোর পূজা করা কতটা যুক্তিযুক্ত)
English (Saheeh International):And Manāt, the third - the other one?1
53:21

أَلَكُمُ ٱلذَّكَرُ وَلَهُ ٱلْأُنثَىٰ

Bengali:কী! তোমাদের জন্য পুত্র সন্তান আর আল্লাহর জন্য কন্যা সন্তান?
English (Saheeh International):Is the male for you and for Him the female?
53:22

تِلْكَ إِذًا قِسْمَةٌ ضِيزَىٰٓ

Bengali:তাহলে এটাতো খুবই অসঙ্গত ভাগ-বাঁটোয়ারা।
English (Saheeh International):That, then, is an unjust division.1
53:23

إِنْ هِىَ إِلَّآ أَسْمَآءٌ سَمَّيْتُمُوهَآ أَنتُمْ وَءَابَآؤُكُم مَّآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ بِهَا مِن سُلْطَـٰنٍ ۚ إِن يَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا ٱلظَّنَّ وَمَا تَهْوَى ٱلْأَنفُسُ ۖ وَلَقَدْ جَآءَهُم مِّن رَّبِّهِمُ ٱلْهُدَىٰٓ

Bengali:এগুলো তো কেবল কতকগুলো নাম যে নাম তোমরা আর তোমাদের পিতৃ পৃরুষরা রেখেছ, এর পক্ষে আল্লাহ কোন প্রমাণ অবতীর্ণ করেননি। তারা তো শুধু অনুমান আর প্রবৃত্তিরই অনুসরণ করে, যদিও তাদের কাছে তাদের প্রতিপালকের পক্ষ থেকে পথ নির্দেশ এসেছে।
English (Saheeh International):They are not but [mere] names you have named them - you and your forefathers - for which Allāh has sent down no authority. They follow not except assumption and what [their] souls desire, and there has already come to them from their Lord guidance.
53:24

أَمْ لِلْإِنسَـٰنِ مَا تَمَنَّىٰ

Bengali:মানুষ কি তাই পায় যা সে চায়? (আল্লাহ যাকে যেভাবে ইচ্ছে সেভাবে দেন ইহকালে আর পরকালে),
English (Saheeh International):Or is there for man whatever he wishes?
53:25

فَلِلَّهِ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةُ وَٱلْأُولَىٰ

Bengali:কেননা আল্লাহই পরকাল আর ইহকালের মালিক।
English (Saheeh International):Rather, to Allāh belongs the Hereafter and the first [life].
53:26

۞ وَكَم مِّن مَّلَكٍ فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ لَا تُغْنِى شَفَـٰعَتُهُمْ شَيْـًٔا إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعْدِ أَن يَأْذَنَ ٱللَّهُ لِمَن يَشَآءُ وَيَرْضَىٰٓ

Bengali:আকাশে কতই না ফেরেশতা আছে তাদের সুপারিশ কোনই কাজে আসবে না, তবে (কাজে আসবে) যদি তিনি অনুমতি দেন যার জন্য আল্লাহ ইচ্ছে করবেন এবং যার প্রতি তিনি সন্তুষ্ট।
English (Saheeh International):And how many angels there are in the heavens whose intercession will not avail at all except [only] after Allāh has permitted [it] to whom He wills and approves.
53:27

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ لَيُسَمُّونَ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةَ تَسْمِيَةَ ٱلْأُنثَىٰ

Bengali:যারা আখিরাতে বিশ্বাস করে না তারাই ফেরেশতাদের স্ত্রীবাচক নামে নামকরণ করে থাকে।
English (Saheeh International):Indeed, those who do not believe in the Hereafter name the angels female names,
53:28

وَمَا لَهُم بِهِۦ مِنْ عِلْمٍ ۖ إِن يَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا ٱلظَّنَّ ۖ وَإِنَّ ٱلظَّنَّ لَا يُغْنِى مِنَ ٱلْحَقِّ شَيْـًٔا

Bengali:অথচ এ বিষয়ে তাদের কোনই জ্ঞান নেই, তারা কেবল অনুমানেরই অনুসরণ করছে, আর প্রকৃত সত্যের মুকাবালায় অনুমান কোনই কাজে আসে না।
English (Saheeh International):And they have thereof no knowledge. They follow not except assumption, and indeed, assumption avails not against the truth at all.
53:29

فَأَعْرِضْ عَن مَّن تَوَلَّىٰ عَن ذِكْرِنَا وَلَمْ يُرِدْ إِلَّا ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا

Bengali:কাজেই যে আমার স্মরণ হতে মুখ ফিরিয়ে নেয় আর পার্থিব জীবন ছাড়া (অন্য কিছুই) কামনা করে না, তুমি তাকে এড়িয়ে চল।
English (Saheeh International):So turn away from whoever turns his back on Our message and desires not except the worldly life.
53:30

ذَٰلِكَ مَبْلَغُهُم مِّنَ ٱلْعِلْمِ ۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَن ضَلَّ عَن سَبِيلِهِۦ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَنِ ٱهْتَدَىٰ

Bengali:তাদের জ্ঞানের দৌড় ঐ পর্যন্তই। তোমার প্রতিপালক খুব ভাল করেই জানেন কে তার পথ থেকে গুমরাহ হয়ে গেছে, আর তিনি ভালই জানেন কে সঠিক পথে আছে।
English (Saheeh International):That is their sum of knowledge. Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who strays from His way, and He is most knowing of who is guided.
53:31

وَلِلَّهِ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ لِيَجْزِىَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَسَـٰٓـُٔوا۟ بِمَا عَمِلُوا۟ وَيَجْزِىَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَحْسَنُوا۟ بِٱلْحُسْنَى

Bengali:যা আছে আকাশে আর যা আছে যমীনে সব আল্লাহরই- যাতে তিনি যারা মন্দ কাজ করে তাদেরকে তাদের কাজের প্রতিফল দেন আর যারা সৎকর্ম করে তাদেরকে দেন শুভ প্রতিফল।
English (Saheeh International):And to Allāh belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth - that He may recompense those who do evil with [the penalty of] what they have done and recompense those who do good with the best [reward] -
53:32

ٱلَّذِينَ يَجْتَنِبُونَ كَبَـٰٓئِرَ ٱلْإِثْمِ وَٱلْفَوَٰحِشَ إِلَّا ٱللَّمَمَ ۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ وَٰسِعُ ٱلْمَغْفِرَةِ ۚ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِكُمْ إِذْ أَنشَأَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْأَرْضِ وَإِذْ أَنتُمْ أَجِنَّةٌ فِى بُطُونِ أُمَّهَـٰتِكُمْ ۖ فَلَا تُزَكُّوٓا۟ أَنفُسَكُمْ ۖ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَنِ ٱتَّقَىٰٓ

Bengali:যারা বিরত থাকে বড় বড় পাপ আর অশ্লীল কার্যকলাপ থেকে ছোট খাট দোষ-ত্রুটি ছাড়া; বস্তুতঃ তোমার প্রতিপালক ক্ষমা করার ব্যাপারে অতি প্রশস্ত। তিনি তোমাদের সম্পর্কে খুব ভালভাবেই জানেন যখন তিনি তোমাদেরকে মাটি থেকে সৃষ্টি করেছেন আর যখন তোমরা তোমাদের মায়েদের পেটে ভ্রুণ অবস্থায় ছিলে। কাজেই নিজেদেরকে খুব পবিত্র মনে করো না। কে তাক্বওয়া অবলম্বন করে তা তিনি ভালভাবেই জানেন।
English (Saheeh International):Those who avoid the major sins and immoralities, only [committing] slight ones. Indeed, your Lord is vast in forgiveness. He was most knowing of you when He produced you from the earth and when you were fetuses in the wombs of your mothers. So do not claim yourselves to be pure; He is most knowing of who fears Him.
53:33

أَفَرَءَيْتَ ٱلَّذِى تَوَلَّىٰ

Bengali:তুমি কি তাকে দেখেছ যে (আল্লাহ হতে) মুখ ফিরিয়ে নেয়?
English (Saheeh International):Have you seen the one who turned away
53:34

وَأَعْطَىٰ قَلِيلًا وَأَكْدَىٰٓ

Bengali:এবং সামান্য দান করে অতঃপর (হৃদয়) শক্ত করে ফেলে?
English (Saheeh International):And gave a little and [then] refrained?
53:35

أَعِندَهُۥ عِلْمُ ٱلْغَيْبِ فَهُوَ يَرَىٰٓ

Bengali:তার কি অদৃশ্যের জ্ঞান আছে যার কারণে সে দেখতে পায়?
English (Saheeh International):Does he have knowledge of the unseen, so he sees?1
53:36

أَمْ لَمْ يُنَبَّأْ بِمَا فِى صُحُفِ مُوسَىٰ

Bengali:নাকি মূসার কিতাবের তথ্য তার কাছে পৌঁছানো হয়নি,
English (Saheeh International):Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses
53:37

وَإِبْرَٰهِيمَ ٱلَّذِى وَفَّىٰٓ

Bengali:আর ইবরাহীমের (কিতাবের খবর) যে (ইবরাহীম) ছিল পুরোপুরি দায়িত্ব পালনকারী।
English (Saheeh International):And [of] Abraham, who fulfilled [his obligations] -
53:38

أَلَّا تَزِرُ وَازِرَةٌ وِزْرَ أُخْرَىٰ

Bengali:(সে খবর এই) যে, কোন বোঝা বহনকারী বইবে না অপরের বোঝা।
English (Saheeh International):That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another
53:39

وَأَن لَّيْسَ لِلْإِنسَـٰنِ إِلَّا مَا سَعَىٰ

Bengali:আর এই যে, মানুষ যা পাওয়ার জন্য চেষ্টা করে তাছাড়া কিছুই পায় না,
English (Saheeh International):And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives
53:40

وَأَنَّ سَعْيَهُۥ سَوْفَ يُرَىٰ

Bengali:আর এই যে, তার চেষ্টা সাধনার ফল শীঘ্রই তাকে দেখানো হবে,
English (Saheeh International):And that his effort is going to be seen -
53:41

ثُمَّ يُجْزَىٰهُ ٱلْجَزَآءَ ٱلْأَوْفَىٰ

Bengali:অতঃপর তাকে দেয়া হবে পূর্ণ প্রতিফল
English (Saheeh International):Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense -
53:42

وَأَنَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ ٱلْمُنتَهَىٰ

Bengali:আর এই যে, শেষ গন্তব্য হল তোমার প্রতিপালক পর্যন্ত,
English (Saheeh International):And that to your Lord is the finality
53:43

وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ أَضْحَكَ وَأَبْكَىٰ

Bengali:আর এই যে, তিনিই হাসান, তিনিই কাঁদান।
English (Saheeh International):And that it is He who makes [one] laugh and weep
53:44

وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ أَمَاتَ وَأَحْيَا

Bengali:আর এই যে, তিনিই মারেন, তিনিই বাঁচান।
English (Saheeh International):And that it is He who causes death and gives life
53:45

وَأَنَّهُۥ خَلَقَ ٱلزَّوْجَيْنِ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلْأُنثَىٰ

Bengali:আর এই যে, তিনিই সৃষ্টি করেন জোড়া- পুরুষ আর নারী,
English (Saheeh International):And that He creates the two mates - the male and female -
53:46

مِن نُّطْفَةٍ إِذَا تُمْنَىٰ

Bengali:এক ফোঁটা শুক্র হতে যখন তা নিক্ষিপ্ত হয়
English (Saheeh International):From a sperm-drop when it is emitted
53:47

وَأَنَّ عَلَيْهِ ٱلنَّشْأَةَ ٱلْأُخْرَىٰ

Bengali:আর এই যে, পুনরায় সৃষ্টির দায়িত্বভার তাঁরই উপর,
English (Saheeh International):And that [incumbent] upon Him is the other [i.e., next] creation.
53:48

وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ أَغْنَىٰ وَأَقْنَىٰ

Bengali:আর এই যে, তিনিই অভাবমুক্ত করেন আর সম্পদ দেন,
English (Saheeh International):And that it is He who enriches and suffices
53:49

وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ رَبُّ ٱلشِّعْرَىٰ

Bengali:আর এই যে, শি‘রা (অর্থাৎ লুব্ধক নক্ষত্র)’র তিনিই প্রতিপালক,
English (Saheeh International):And that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius1.
53:50

وَأَنَّهُۥٓ أَهْلَكَ عَادًا ٱلْأُولَىٰ

Bengali:আর এই যে, তিনিই প্রাচীন ‘আদ জাতিকে ধ্বংস করেছিলেন,
English (Saheeh International):And that He destroyed the first [people of] ʿAad.
53:51

وَثَمُودَا۟ فَمَآ أَبْقَىٰ

Bengali:আর সামূদ জাতিকেও, তাদের একজনকেও বাকী রাখেননি।
English (Saheeh International):And Thamūd - and He did not spare [them] -
53:52

وَقَوْمَ نُوحٍ مِّن قَبْلُ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ هُمْ أَظْلَمَ وَأَطْغَىٰ

Bengali:আর তার পূর্বে নূহের জাতিকেও, তারা ছিল অত্যধিক যালিম ও সীমালঙ্ঘনকারী।
English (Saheeh International):And the people of Noah before. Indeed, it was they who were [even] more unjust and oppressing.
53:53

وَٱلْمُؤْتَفِكَةَ أَهْوَىٰ

Bengali:তিনি (লূত জাতির) উল্টানো আবাস ভূমিকে উঠিয়ে নিক্ষেপ করেছিলেন,
English (Saheeh International):And the overturned towns1 He hurled down.
53:54

فَغَشَّىٰهَا مَا غَشَّىٰ

Bengali:অতঃপর তাকে আচ্ছন্ন করল যা তাকে আচ্ছন্ন করেছে।
English (Saheeh International):And covered them by that which He covered.1
53:55

فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكَ تَتَمَارَىٰ

Bengali:অতএব তুমি তোমার প্রতিপালকের কোন নি‘মাতে সন্দেহ পোষণ করবে?
English (Saheeh International):Then which of the favors of your Lord do you doubt?
53:56

هَـٰذَا نَذِيرٌ مِّنَ ٱلنُّذُرِ ٱلْأُولَىٰٓ

Bengali:অতীতের সতর্ককারীদের মত এ (নবীও) একজন সতর্ককারী।
English (Saheeh International):This [Prophet (ﷺ)] is a warner from [i.e., like] the former warners.
53:57

أَزِفَتِ ٱلْـَٔازِفَةُ

Bengali:আগমনকারী মুহূর্ত (ক্বিয়ামত) নিকটবর্তী।
English (Saheeh International):The Approaching Day has approached.
53:58

لَيْسَ لَهَا مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ كَاشِفَةٌ

Bengali:আল্লাহ ছাড়া কেউ তা সরাতে পারে না (বা প্রকাশ করতে পারে না)।
English (Saheeh International):Of it, [from those] besides Allāh, there is no remover.
53:59

أَفَمِنْ هَـٰذَا ٱلْحَدِيثِ تَعْجَبُونَ

Bengali:তোমরা কি এ কথায় বিস্মিত হচ্ছ?
English (Saheeh International):Then at this statement do you wonder?
53:60

وَتَضْحَكُونَ وَلَا تَبْكُونَ

Bengali:আর হাসছ, কাঁদছ না?
English (Saheeh International):And you laugh and do not weep
53:61

وَأَنتُمْ سَـٰمِدُونَ

Bengali:বৃথা খেল-তামাশায় সময় ক্ষেপন করছ,
English (Saheeh International):While you are proudly sporting?1
53:62

فَٱسْجُدُوا۟ لِلَّهِ وَٱعْبُدُوا۟ ۩

Bengali:তাই, আল্লাহর উদ্দেশ্যে সাজদায় পতিত হও আর তাঁর বন্দেগী কর।[সাজদাহ]
English (Saheeh International):So prostrate to Allāh and worship [Him].
