Surah Al-Jumu'ah

Meaning: The Congregation, Friday (সম্মেলন/শুক্রবার)

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

62:1

يُسَبِّحُ لِلَّهِ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ٱلْمَلِكِ ٱلْقُدُّوسِ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْحَكِيمِ

Bengali:যা কিছু আসমানে আছে আর যা কিছু যমীনে আছে সব কিছুই প্রশংসা ও মহিমা ঘোষণা করে আল্লাহর যিনি সর্বময় ক্ষমতার অধিকারী, অতি পবিত্র, মহাপরাক্রান্ত, মহাবিজ্ঞানী।
English (Saheeh International):Whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth is exalting Allāh,1 the Sovereign, the Pure, the Exalted in Might, the Wise.2
62:2

هُوَ ٱلَّذِى بَعَثَ فِى ٱلْأُمِّيِّـۧنَ رَسُولًا مِّنْهُمْ يَتْلُوا۟ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَـٰتِهِۦ وَيُزَكِّيهِمْ وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ وَٱلْحِكْمَةَ وَإِن كَانُوا۟ مِن قَبْلُ لَفِى ضَلَـٰلٍ مُّبِينٍ

Bengali:তিনিই নিরক্ষরদের মাঝে পাঠিয়েছেন তাঁর রসূলকে তাদেরই মধ্য হতে, যে তাদের কাছে আল্লাহর আয়াত পাঠ করে, তাদেরকে পবিত্র করে, আর তাদেরকে কিতাব ও হিকমত শিক্ষা দেয় অথচ ইতোপূর্বে তারা ছিল স্পষ্ট গুমরাহীতে নিমজ্জিত।
English (Saheeh International):It is He who has sent among the unlettered [Arabs] a Messenger from themselves reciting to them His verses and purifying them and teaching them the Book [i.e., the Qur’ān] and wisdom [i.e., the sunnah] - although they were before in clear error -
62:3

وَءَاخَرِينَ مِنْهُمْ لَمَّا يَلْحَقُوا۟ بِهِمْ ۚ وَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ

Bengali:আর (এই রসূলকে পাঠানো হয়েছে) তাদের অন্যান্যদের জন্যও যারা এখনও তাদের সাথে মিলিত হয়নি (কিন্তু তারা ভবিষ্যতে আসবে)। আল্লাহ মহাপরাক্রান্ত, মহাবিজ্ঞানী।
English (Saheeh International):And [to] others of them who have not yet joined them. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
62:4

ذَٰلِكَ فَضْلُ ٱللَّهِ يُؤْتِيهِ مَن يَشَآءُ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ ذُو ٱلْفَضْلِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ

Bengali:ওটা আল্লাহর অনুগ্রহ যা তিনি যাকে ইচ্ছে দান করেন; আল্লাহ মহা অনুগ্রহের অধিকারী।
English (Saheeh International):That is the bounty of Allāh, which He gives to whom He wills, and Allāh is the possessor of great bounty.
62:5

مَثَلُ ٱلَّذِينَ حُمِّلُوا۟ ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةَ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَحْمِلُوهَا كَمَثَلِ ٱلْحِمَارِ يَحْمِلُ أَسْفَارًۢا ۚ بِئْسَ مَثَلُ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ لَا يَهْدِى ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ

Bengali:যাদের উপর তাওরাতের দায়িত্বভার দেয়া হয়েছিল, অতঃপর তা তারা বহন করেনি (অর্থাৎ তারা তাদের উপর ন্যস্ত দায়িত্ব পালন করেনি) তাদের দৃষ্টান্ত হল গাধার মত, যে বহু কিতাবের বোঝা বহন করে (কিন্তু তা বুঝে না)। যে সম্প্রদায় আল্লাহর আয়াতগুলোকে অস্বীকার করে, তাদের দৃষ্টান্ত কতইনা নিকৃষ্ট! যালিম সম্প্রদায়কে আল্লাহ সঠিক পথে পরিচালিত করেন না।
English (Saheeh International):The example of those who were entrusted with the Torah and then did not take it on1 is like that of a donkey who carries volumes [of books].2 Wretched is the example of the people who deny the signs of Allāh. And Allāh does not guide the wrongdoing people.
62:6

قُلْ يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ هَادُوٓا۟ إِن زَعَمْتُمْ أَنَّكُمْ أَوْلِيَآءُ لِلَّهِ مِن دُونِ ٱلنَّاسِ فَتَمَنَّوُا۟ ٱلْمَوْتَ إِن كُنتُمْ صَـٰدِقِينَ

Bengali:বল- ‘হে ইয়াহূদী হয়ে যাওয়া লোকেরা! তোমরা যদি মনে কর যে, অন্য সব লোককে বাদ দিয়ে কেবল তোমরাই আল্লাহর বন্ধু, তাহলে তোমরা মৃত্যু কামনা কর, যদি তোমরা সত্যবাদী হয়ে থাকো।
English (Saheeh International):Say, "O you who are Jews, if you claim that you are allies of Allāh, excluding the [other] people, then wish for death, if you should be truthful."
62:7

وَلَا يَتَمَنَّوْنَهُۥٓ أَبَدًۢا بِمَا قَدَّمَتْ أَيْدِيهِمْ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمٌۢ بِٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ

Bengali:কিন্তু তাদের হাত যে সব (কৃতকর্ম) আগে পাঠিয়েছে, সে কারণে তারা কক্ষনো মৃত্যুর কামনা করবে না। আর আল্লাহ যালিমদেরকে খুব ভাল করেই জানেন।
English (Saheeh International):But they will not wish for it, ever, because of what their hands have put forth. And Allāh is Knowing of the wrongdoers.
62:8

قُلْ إِنَّ ٱلْمَوْتَ ٱلَّذِى تَفِرُّونَ مِنْهُ فَإِنَّهُۥ مُلَـٰقِيكُمْ ۖ ثُمَّ تُرَدُّونَ إِلَىٰ عَـٰلِمِ ٱلْغَيْبِ وَٱلشَّهَـٰدَةِ فَيُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ

Bengali:বল- ‘তোমরা যে মৃত্যু থেকে পালাচ্ছ তা অবশ্যই তোমাদের সাথে সাক্ষাৎ করবে। অতঃপর তোমাদেরকে দৃশ্য ও অদৃশ্যের জ্ঞানের অধিকারী (আল্লাহ)’র নিকট ফিরিয়ে নেয়া হবে; অতঃপর তোমাদেরকে জানিয়ে দেয়া হবে যা তোমরা করতে।
English (Saheeh International):Say, "Indeed, the death from which you flee - indeed, it will meet you. Then you will be returned to the Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, and He will inform you about what you used to do."
62:9

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِذَا نُودِىَ لِلصَّلَوٰةِ مِن يَوْمِ ٱلْجُمُعَةِ فَٱسْعَوْا۟ إِلَىٰ ذِكْرِ ٱللَّهِ وَذَرُوا۟ ٱلْبَيْعَ ۚ ذَٰلِكُمْ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ

Bengali:হে মু’মিনগণ! জুমু‘আহর দিনে যখন নামাযের জন্য ডাকা হয়, তখন আল্লাহর স্মরণের দিকে শীঘ্র ধাবিত হও, ক্রয়-বিক্রয় পরিত্যাগ কর, এটাই তোমাদের জন্য অতি উত্তম, যদি তোমরা জানতে!
English (Saheeh International):O you who have believed, when [the adhān] is called for the prayer on the day of Jumuʿah [Friday], then proceed to the remembrance of Allāh and leave trade. That is better for you, if you only knew.
62:10

فَإِذَا قُضِيَتِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةُ فَٱنتَشِرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱبْتَغُوا۟ مِن فَضْلِ ٱللَّهِ وَٱذْكُرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ كَثِيرًا لَّعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ

Bengali:অতঃপর যখন নামায সমাপ্ত হয়, তখন যমীনে ছড়িয়ে পড়, আর আল্লাহর অনুগ্রহ সন্ধান কর এবং আল্লাহকে বেশি বেশি স্মরণ করতে থাক- যাতে তোমরা সাফল্য লাভ করতে পার।
English (Saheeh International):And when the prayer has been concluded, disperse within the land and seek from the bounty of Allāh, and remember Allāh often that you may succeed.
62:11

وَإِذَا رَأَوْا۟ تِجَـٰرَةً أَوْ لَهْوًا ٱنفَضُّوٓا۟ إِلَيْهَا وَتَرَكُوكَ قَآئِمًا ۚ قُلْ مَا عِندَ ٱللَّهِ خَيْرٌ مِّنَ ٱللَّهْوِ وَمِنَ ٱلتِّجَـٰرَةِ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ خَيْرُ ٱلرَّٰزِقِينَ

Bengali:তারা যখন ব্যবসায় অথবা ক্রীড়া কৌতুক দেখে তখন তারা সেদিকে ছুটে যায় আর তোমাকে রেখে যায় দাঁড়ানো অবস্থায়। বল- ‘আল্লাহর কাছে যা আছে তা ক্রীড়া-কৌতুক ও ব্যবসার চেয়ে উত্তম।’ আর আল্লাহ সর্বাপেক্ষা উত্তম রিযকদাতা।
English (Saheeh International):But [on one occasion] when they saw a transaction or a diversion, [O Muḥammad], they rushed to it and left you standing. Say, "What is with Allāh is better than diversion and than a transaction, and Allāh is the best of providers."
